The Vision
We seek to demonstrate that designing the remarkable and the sustainable are indisputably one and the same.
Studio Wild 15 was created to provide the freedom to pursue our craft in a different way. There are three core principles that sit at the heart of everything we do:
1 / Bring a new level of sustainability to the fields of master planning and landscape architecture
2 / Recruit world-class collaborators from an exceptionally diverse and unusual range of skill-sets
3 / Continuously look for new methods, ideas, and technology to make every project better
Sustainability
We all know the environmental trajectory we’re on. We urgently need to look at every development through a lens of sustainability. Right now within the industry there are huge areas of opportunity to be better, be smarter and more thoughtful. That’s what really drives our approach and the results.
I fundamentally believe that a sustainable mindset and methodology creates developments that are not only cheaper to operate but are more viable and attractive for people to enjoy and purchase.
Conversely, if we don’t take these issues into greater account now then everything we do feels very short term and can carry huge potential risk.
Collaboration
I firmly believe in the principle of having the right people on the project at the right time. Each project is different, and so is every group. With the plan in place I can then determine the skills and expertise required. The people we bring together are comfortable to contribute and brainstorm in each other’s areas, leading to fantastic ideas that cut across disciplines rather than in traditional siloes. Everyone is engaged and driven by the same shared vision around working sustainably.

I’m not afraid to experiment either with the types of collaborators. I’ve worked with artists and mental health experts, economists and soundscape experts. You can’t innovate without experimentation. I love the freedom that setting up the studio has given me, to create such an exciting and talented network.

It goes beyond just ideas and design, this way of working, of being collaborative and managing all the core project fundamentals. Knowing how finance and feasibility, design and strategy impact one another, along with development economics, cycles and phasing, by looking at these core elements holistically, you can ensure everything is geared to a successful outcome.
That sort of simultaneous approach to design scares a lot of practitioners, but not only does it make Studio Wild 15 unmatchable, it makes us a genuine studio.
Methodology
Working with different people makes your own ideas better. Sometimes you get to ideas you’d never come up with, or discover new technology you would have missed. Part of setting up Studio Wild 15 was about giving ourselves the space to try new things and rapidly pass on the benefits to our clients.
For example, by using the latest VR tech, we have transformed our clients’ ability to visualise the project on site before a single stone is moved.
Throughout the studio, we have universally embraced procedural design – an approach that deviates from standard architectural orthogonal projection, providing a method for rapid iteration, translating into efficiency for us and cost savings for our clients.
After all, innovation is about experimentation, and having a shared vision has enabled the studio to embrace and develop class-leading applications of technology across everything we do.
