GOVERNANCE

wave mark-reversed 4000px.png

Governance is a direct reflection of our values — shaping how we make decisions, support our team, collaborate with clients, and ultimately ensure our wider impact on the world is a positive one. We combine well-being, fairness, and integrity with a foundation of ecological thinking into everything we do. Our governance is an evolving framework: one that not only ensures the highest standards of conduct, but actively defines the kind of studio we are building and the contribution we aim to make.

Below is an outline of our current policies:

Staff Flexibility & Freedom Policy

At Studio Wild 15, we believe that exceptional design comes from inspired, balanced, and empowered people: not from rigid schedules or unnecessary constraints. As a design practice rooted in creativity, we prioritise outcomes, well-being, and trust over traditional definitions of “work hours.”

1. Results Over Hours
Our primary expectation is simple: deliver thoughtful, high-quality work on time. We do not measure productivity by hours logged, but by the clarity, creativity, and integrity of what our staff produce.

2. Work When You Work Best
We encourage you to structure your day around your natural energy and focus cycles. Whether you are most productive early in the morning, late at night, or in focused bursts throughout the day, you have the autonomy to choose your rhythm.

3. Work From Where You Thrive
Your environment shapes your thinking. You are free to work from wherever you feel most comfortable, inspired, and effective: whether that’s your home, a studio, a café, or immersed in the landscape itself.

4. Trust & Accountability
Flexibility is built on mutual trust. We trust you to manage your time responsibly, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines. In return, we provide the freedom to work in a way that supports your best performance and personal well-being.

5. Collaboration & Presence
While flexibility is central, collaboration remains essential. Team members are expected to be available for key meetings, project reviews, and moments that require collective input. Communication and responsiveness ensure that flexibility works for everyone.

6. Well-Being as a Priority
We believe that great design requires clarity of mind and balance in life. Taking time to rest, recharge, and engage with the world beyond work is not only supported: it is essential.

7. Ownership of Craft
With freedom comes responsibility. Each team member is entrusted with ownership of their work, their schedule, and their growth. We expect a high level of professionalism, self-direction, and care in everything you do. Always quality over quantity or racing for deadlines.

Client Alignment Policy

We are intentional about who we work with.

As a studio, our role is not only to design spaces, but to contribute-however modestly-to a better, more thoughtful world. For this reason, we choose to collaborate with clients who share a genuine commitment to positive impact, integrity, and long-term thinking.

We seek partnerships with individuals and organisations who value design as a force for good: environmentally responsible, culturally respectful, and deeply considered. Alignment in values, vision, and intent is essential to how we work.

We are comfortable turning down opportunities that do not reflect these principles. Protecting the integrity of our work-and the impact it has-is more important than pursuing every project.

This approach allows us to dedicate our energy to projects and people we believe in, and to create work that we are proud to stand behind.

Fair Pay Policy

We are committed to compensating our team in a way that reflects the value, care, and creativity they bring to our work.

As a studio, we aim to pay above industry-standard levels of remuneration. We believe that fair and generous compensation is fundamental to attracting and retaining exceptional people, and to creating an environment where individuals feel respected, secure, and motivated.

Our approach to pay is guided by transparency, equity, and performance. We regularly review compensation to ensure it remains competitive and aligned with individual contribution, experience, and growth.

We recognise that great work is not created in isolation: it is the result of a supported and valued team. Paying well is not a perk; it is a core responsibility of how we operate.

By investing in our people, we invest in the quality and integrity of everything we produce.

Carbon & Ecological Offset Policy

We recognise that the built environment carries a measurable environmental impact. As a landscape and architectural studio, we take responsibility for actively contributing to ecological balance through our work.

We are committed to measuring and tracking the positive environmental impact of our projects:specifically through the number of trees and planted systems we design and help bring into reality. This includes both proposed and implemented planting, with a focus on long-term ecological value rather than short-term metrics.

Where possible, we quantify the carbon offset potential of these interventions, using tree counts and planting strategies as a clear and transparent indicator of our contribution. While we understand that carbon offsetting is complex and multifaceted, we believe that consistent measurement is an essential step toward accountability.

Our goal is to ensure that, over time, our collective work contributes to offsetting the carbon footprint associated with our practice and projects. We continually seek to improve how we measure, report, and enhance this impact.

By embedding ecological thinking into every project, we aim not only to design beautiful environments, but to actively restore and support the natural systems they belong to.

Sustainable Travel Policy

We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of how we move.

Where travel is necessary, we prioritise the lowest-impact options available to us: favouring walking, cycling, rail, and shared transport over higher-emission alternatives. We actively consider whether travel is essential, and embrace remote collaboration whenever it can achieve the same outcome.

When longer-distance travel cannot be avoided, we aim to make thoughtful, efficient choices that reduce overall impact.

Our approach is simple: travel less, travel consciously, and always choose the most sustainable option available.

Teaching & Thought Leadership Policy

We are committed to contributing to the future of our profession through education, mentorship, and the open exchange of ideas.

Our founders actively teach across undergraduate and master’s programmes, maintaining a direct connection to emerging talent and evolving discourse within design and sustainability. This engagement ensures that our practice remains both reflective and forward-looking.

Beyond higher education, we participate in outreach initiatives, school visits, and careers development programs to support and inspire the next generation. We believe that access, encouragement, and exposure are essential to building a more diverse and thoughtful profession.

Through teaching, speaking, and ongoing dialogue, we aim to share knowledge, challenge conventions, and contribute meaningfully to the broader design community.

We also appear on podcasts and TV interviews to discuss and blend our sustainable approach with other industry leaders in the realms of wellness, mental health and sustainability.

This commitment is integral to who we are: not separate from practice, but a vital extension of it.

Anti-Modern Slavery Policy

We are committed to operating with integrity and respect for human rights in all aspects of our work.

We have zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking within our practice and across our supply chains. We expect the same standards from all collaborators, consultants, and suppliers we engage with.

We remain vigilant in our partnerships and take responsibility for working only with those who share these values.

Anti-Corruption Policy

As a limited liability company, based in the UK,  we are committed to conducting our business with honesty, integrity, and full compliance with all internationally applicable laws.

We have zero tolerance for bribery or corruption in any form. This includes the offering, giving, soliciting, or accepting of any improper payments, gifts, or advantages intended to influence business decisions or secure unfair benefit.

We act transparently and ethically in all our relationships: with clients, consultants, suppliers, and public authorities. Any hospitality or gifts must be appropriate, proportionate, and aligned with accepted professional standards.

We expect all team members and collaborators to uphold these principles and to raise any concerns without hesitation.

Maintaining trust is fundamental to our work, and we are committed to protecting it in everything we do.

Whistleblowing Policy

We are committed to maintaining a culture of openness, integrity, and accountability.

All team members and collaborators are encouraged to speak up if they have genuine concerns about wrongdoing, unethical behaviour, or breaches of our policies. This includes issues relating to legal compliance, environmental responsibility, financial conduct, or the treatment of people.

Concerns can be raised confidentially and, if preferred, anonymously. We are committed to handling all reports seriously, fairly, and without retaliation. No individual will suffer any disadvantage for raising a concern in good faith.

We believe that creating a safe environment for speaking up is essential to maintaining trust, protecting our values, and ensuring we operate responsibly in all aspects of our work.

Nature on the Board Commitment (2026)

In 2026, we are beginning the process of integrating a “Nature on the Board” approach into our governance. This reflects our belief that the natural environment should be considered a stakeholder in the decisions we make as a practice. Over the coming year, we will explore practical ways to embed this thinking into our structure, decision-making, and project evaluation- ensuring that ecological impact is not an afterthought, but a guiding principle. This is an evolving commitment, and we approach it with openness, rigour, and a willingness to learn as we develop a model that is meaningful, accountable, and aligned with our values.
